Chiang Rai is an amazing city in the north of Thailand that is rich with nature, monuments, sustainable, adventure, food and friendly people.
I was on a 'Fam Trip' which started on 27 January 2018, with luxury cars taking us from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. On the way we had tasty Thai lunch, of course i choose fish as my favourite dish while being in Thailand, a tasty ice-cream followed with a draft of Singha beer.
Chiang Rai known as the agriculture center in the Kingdom of Thailand in terms of capacity, our visit was for Choui Fong Tea Plantation, where the best tea grows with several distinctive types such as Assam, Green, Oolong and black tea.
Chiang Rai is also rich with temples, the Wat Phrathat Pha Ngao was our next visit, the legend has it that if anyone becomes sick and comes to worship the Phrathat here, then the illness will soon fade away.
We moved the second day to a paper making class at Jinnaluck the Miracle of Saa and Ban Pang Ha. This is an eco-friendly manufacture of green paper made from plants by hand.
The wonderful adventure was at the Doi Tung Tree Top Walk, situated in the Mae Fah Luang Garden on the Doi Tung developments project. I had a wonderful experience with 295 metre long walkaway among the trees at 30 meters above the ground.
In the morning, the visit to Wat Rong Suea Ten, or the blue temple, displays the contemporary Buddhist art that implied the Lord Buddhas doctrine. Next visit was to Wat Rong Khun which is one of a considerable number of religious places in Chiang Rai. Originating from the great devotion of renowned Thai artist, Chalermchai Kosipipat, the temple is dedicated to Lord Buddha with the intention to construct an attainable paradise on earth representing righteousness.
